ABOUT MED WEEK
Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week is dedicated to celebrating the remarkable achievements of minority business enterprises. Since 1983 this annual event has paid homage to the relentless efforts and contributions of these enterprises while recognizing the invaluable support from corporations and financial institutions that foster minority business development. During this extraordinary week, we unite to honor exceptional minority, women-owned, and small businesses, alongside the agencies and individuals who champion a thriving and diverse marketplace. Join us for a week filled with empowerment, inspiration, and networking as we come together to amplify the voices of minority entrepreneurs.
CONNECTING THE CHARLOTTE MWSBE COMMUNITY
In 2021 it was reported that the City of Charlotte had just over 3,000 minority-owned businesses and around 3,500 women-owned businesses. Charlotte MED Week aims to foster a business environment that embraces diversity and innovation, laying the foundation for an inclusive economy that benefits us all. Together, let's celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship and pave the way for a brighter future of collaborative success.
We invite you to join business, government, and community leaders at the eleventh annual Charlotte Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week celebration honoring outstanding minority, women-owned and small businesses and the agencies and individuals who support a diverse marketplace. We’ll have professional development workshops, a business connections expo, and an awards celebration to recognize achievements of outstanding minority, women, and small business entrepreneurs.
Charlotte MED Week is a nonprofit annual event facilitated by a volunteer planning committee. With sponsorship dollars and in-kind services we are able to host quality events for MWSBEs in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area.
